MDT LSS Gen3 SBR Chassis Kit

Preferred Rifles MDT LSS Gen3 SBR Chassis Kit is a complete, preconfigured chassis package for Remington 700-pattern short actions. Each kit combines verified-compatible MDT LSS Gen3 components with an enclosed short forend and your choice of an MDT STS stock or SRS-XF folding stock.

We’ve already done the compatibility work for you. Instead of sorting through individual MDT part numbers, interfaces, stocks, grips, and forends, simply choose your handedness, color, and stock configuration. Your kit arrives with the compatible components needed to assemble the chassis and install your barreled action.

Available in right- and left-hand Remington 700 short action configurations and your choice of Black or FDE.

What’s Included with the LSS Gen3 SBR Kit?

Each kit includes the compatible MDT components required to assemble the selected SBR chassis configuration.

Depending on the stock option selected, the kit includes the appropriate:

• MDT LSS Gen3 chassis base
• MDT enclosed short forend
• MDT STS stock or SRS-XF folding stock
• Stock interface and related components where required
• MDT grip where required
• Compatible hardware/components for the selected chassis configuration

The chassis arrives as a component kit for customer assembly.

Barreled action, magazine, optic, and other rifle accessories are not included unless specifically stated.

Compact Enclosed Short Forend

The defining feature of the SBR configuration is the MDT enclosed short forend.

Its compact length keeps the front of the rifle short and streamlined while retaining the rigidity and modularity of the LSS Gen3 chassis system. It’s an excellent setup for compact bolt-action rifles, suppressor hosts, short hunting rifles, truck rifles, and other builds where overall length matters.

The enclosed design also gives the rifle a clean, purpose-built appearance while protecting the barrel area and providing a solid mounting platform for compatible accessories.

Excellent Fit with a 9″ Barrel

A 9-inch barrel works especially well with the LSS Gen3 SBR configuration.

With a 9″ barrel installed on a compatible short-action barreled action, the muzzle sits just beyond the front of the enclosed short forend. This creates an exceptionally compact overall package without recessing the muzzle inside the chassis.

That makes this chassis particularly well suited to short-barreled builds where minimizing overall rifle length is a priority.

Actual muzzle position can vary slightly depending on the action and barrel installation, but 9 inches is an excellent starting point for a barrel intended to finish just beyond the SBR forend.

STS Fixed Stock or SRS-XF Folding Stock

The LSS Gen3 SBR Kit is available with two stock configurations.

MDT STS Stock

The STS configuration provides a compact, adjustable non-folding stock that keeps the chassis simple and streamlined.

It’s a great choice for shooters who want the compact dimensions of the SBR chassis without needing a folding mechanism.

MDT SRS-XF Folding Stock

For maximum portability, choose the SRS-XF folding configuration.

The folding stock reduces the rifle’s overall length for transport and storage while retaining the adjustability and solid shooting position expected from an MDT chassis.

The SRS-XF option is particularly attractive for compact rifles, suppressed builds, vehicle rifles, and rifles that need to fit into a shorter case or pack.

Remington 700 Short Action Compatibility

The Preferred Rifles LSS Gen3 SBR Chassis Kit is configured for Remington 700 short actions and compatible Remington 700-pattern short-action receivers.

Available configurations include:

• Right-Hand Short Action
• Left-Hand Short Action
• Black
• FDE
• STS Non-Folding Stock
• SRS-XF Folding Stock

This makes the SBR kit an excellent foundation for factory Remington 700 actions as well as compatible custom short actions and Preferred Rifles barreled actions.

Ready for Your Barreled Action

Once the MDT components are assembled, the chassis is ready for installation of your compatible short-action barreled action.

That makes the SBR Kit an easy way to finish a custom rifle build without sourcing the chassis components individually.

Pair it with a Preferred Rifles custom barrel, Cinder or Bedrock action, or complete Remington 700-pattern barreled action to build a compact rifle around the exact cartridge, barrel length, and configuration you want.

The result is a highly modular, compact precision rifle chassis without the usual compatibility research required to piece an LSS Gen3 system together from scratch.
