Preferred Barrels Precision AR-15 Barrels

Our AR-15 barrels are built with the same equipment, processes, and attention to detail as our custom rifle barrels. From drilling and rifling to hand lapping and final machining, we manufacture our barrels in-house to deliver the quality and consistency you’ve come to expect from Preferred Barrel Blanks.

We’ve put together a lineup of stainless steel and nickel carbon fiber wrapped barrels, with each configuration selected for a specific purpose. Whether you’re after a versatile .223 Wylde, a long-range 6mm ARC, or a compact .338 ARC, there’s something here for your next build.

.223 Wylde — 16″ Stainless Steel

1:7 Twist | Mid-Length Gas

A great all-around AR-15 barrel. The 16″ length keeps things manageable, while the .223 Wylde chamber provides compatibility with both .223 Remington and 5.56 NATO ammunition. Perfect for recreational shooting, varmint hunting, and general-purpose rifles.

.223 Wylde — 18″ Stainless Steel

1:7 Twist | Rifle-Length Gas

A versatile option for shooters wanting a little more barrel length for precision work. An excellent choice for SPR-style builds, target shooting, and hunting applications.

.223 Wylde — 18″ Nickel Carbon Fiber

1:7 Twist | Rifle-Length Gas

All the versatility of our 18″ .223 Wylde stainless barrel in a lightweight carbon fiber wrapped configuration. A great fit for hunting rifles and precision AR builds where keeping weight down matters.

.223 Wylde High Power — 20″ Stainless Steel

1:7.5 Twist | Rifle-Length Gas

Built with a dedicated High Power contour and a faster twist rate for heavier match bullets. This barrel is a natural fit for service rifle competition, High Power matches, and precision target shooting at extended distances.

6mm ARC — 18″ Stainless Steel

1:7.5 Twist | Rifle +1 Gas

A precision-focused 6mm ARC barrel that takes advantage of the cartridge’s excellent long-range ballistics. An excellent option for hunting, competition, and long-range shooting with the AR-15 platform.

6mm ARC — 18″ Nickel Carbon Fiber

1:7.5 Twist | Rifle +1 Gas

Designed for lightweight precision builds, this configuration combines the long-range capabilities of the 6mm ARC with our nickel carbon fiber barrel construction. Ideal for hunters and shooters who want to save weight without sacrificing barrel quality.

6mm ARC — 20″ Nickel Carbon Fiber

1:7.5 Twist | Rifle +1 Gas

The longest 6mm ARC barrel in our lineup, designed for shooters who want additional barrel length while keeping overall rifle weight manageable. A great option for long-range hunting and precision-oriented AR builds.

.338 ARC — 11.5″ Stainless Steel

1:6 Twist | Pistol-Length Gas

A compact barrel for the increasingly popular .338 ARC cartridge. With its short 11.5″ length and fast twist rate, this configuration is well suited for specialized short-barreled and suppressed AR-15 builds.

Optional Superlative Arms Gas System — $99

We’ve designed the gas block journals and dimples on our AR-15 barrels around the Superlative Arms adjustable gas block.

For an additional $99, you can add a Superlative Arms adjustable gas block paired with a White Oak Armament gas tube, matched to the gas system length of your selected barrel.

The adjustable gas block gives you the ability to tune your rifle’s gas system, making it especially useful for suppressed shooting or dialing in a particular ammunition and operating configuration.

Stainless Steel or Nickel Carbon Fiber?

Our stainless steel barrels offer exceptional value and precision, making them a great choice for competition, target shooting, and general-purpose builds.

Our nickel carbon fiber wrapped barrels feature a stainless steel barrel core with a lightweight carbon fiber exterior. They’re an excellent choice when reducing rifle weight is a priority, particularly for hunting and field applications.

Both options are manufactured by Preferred Barrel Blanks using the same precision barrel-making processes as our custom rifle barrels.
